Cast vs.
Calendared Vinyl

Lux Auto only installs ultra-premium Cast Vinyl. Unlike calendared vinyl, which is thicker and prone to peeling over time, Cast Vinyl is exceptionally thin and flexible. The result is a vinyl wrap that seamlessly conforms to complex curves, edges, and body lines without lifting over time. Simply put, Cast Vinyl delivers a superior level of fit and finish that lasts for years to come.

Surface Defense

Forget the vague claims of other shops. Here’s exactly what your wrap defends against on the road.

UV Fading

Protects your paint from sun exposure that fades and dulls the finish over time.

Rock Chips

Helps reduce minor impact damage from debris such as rocks or other highway debris.

Light Scratches

Acts as a sacrificial layer against wash marring and everyday surface wear.

Chemical Stains

Resist staining from road salts, mild acids, and other environmental contaminants.

is a wrap for you?

The Trendsetter

You want a unique color that factory paint doesn't offer.

The business owner

You want to brand your fleet with company colors.

the purist

You want to keep the car 100% original but protect the paint.

the process

Perfection takes time. Here's how we ensure every vehicle meets the Lux Standard.

disassembly

We remove badges, trim, and panels so the film wraps cleanly behind every edge.

decontamination

Every surface is washed, clayed, and prepped so the vinyl bonds flawlessly.

installation

Our installers hand-lay each panel, fitting the film to every curve and contour.

post-heat

We heat-seal every edge and recess so your wrap locks in and lasts for years.

wrap care

Hand wash only. Automatic washes can lift edges.

Treat contaminants fast. Bird droppings, fuel, and tree sap eat into vinyl if left to sit.

Garage when you can. UV and weather age wrap faster than paint.

Rinse before you wash. Dragging loose grit across the film is how scratches start.

How long does a wrap last?

A professionally installed cast vinyl wrap typically lasts 5 to 7 years, depending on climate, driving habits, and maintenance. Garage storage and proper hand washing help extend lifespan and preserve the finish.

No. When applied and removed correctly, a vinyl wrap will not damage original factory paint. In fact, it acts as a protective layer against UV exposure, light surface scratches, and environmental contaminants. Wraps should only be installed on properly cured, OEM-quality paint.

Yes. Most exterior components can be wrapped, including mirrors, trim, and certain bumper sections. Textured plastics may require special preparation or may not be ideal candidates, which is evaluated during consultation.

Yes. Vinyl wraps are fully removable and ideal for leased vehicles. They allow you to change the look while protecting the factory paint underneath, and the vehicle can be returned to stock at the end of the lease.

Cast vinyl is thinner and more flexible, and more dimensionally stable than calendared vinyl. It conforms to complex curves and body lines and is far less prone to shrinking or lifting over time, making it the preferred material for full vehicle wraps.
